How to Beat Huge Websites in SERPs Using Semantic SEO?
3 days ago, I posted on LinkedIn that I would share one important strategy which I often use to beat huge websites in SERPs.
I call this strategy SEMANTIC DEPTH EXPLORER.
The reranking of sources in Google is highly impacted by historical data.
Large websites often have the advantage of having extensive historical data because they cover topics broadly.
Take an example of TripAdvisor and Airbnb.
There, you'll find thousands of pages published.
If you're competing with those big sites in SERPs, Google tends to prioritize them over your source, thanks to their huge amount of historical data and topical authority.
How can you convince search engines to prioritize your source over others in SERPs?
The solution is to go in-depth into semantics.
Semantics is generally divided into two categories:
Macro Semantics
Micro Semantics
Macro Semantics Depth:
Diving into the depths of macro semantics requires you to cover more attributes of your website's entity.
Let's say your website wants to rank for 'Home in Texas'.
In this case, you'll need to go in depth for both entities while processing their attributes.
The goal should be to cover more attributes than those of the large website you're competing against in SERPs.
Obviously, search demand should always be a factor to consider while creating pages for those attributes.
All those pages (Entity + Attribute pairs) will connect together to signal the connection of both entities to search engines.
Micro Semantics Depth:
Micro-semantics are implemented at the page level and play a significant role in reducing the costs for search engines when they are well-optimized on a page.
Concepts like information redundancy, unique information gain score, click satisfaction, and information responsiveness are closely linked with micro-semantics.
What you need to do is dive deeply into presenting information on your page to establish more effective communication with search engines and to better satisfy users.
In simpler terms, your page should be rich in information, while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Exploring both macro and micro-semantics in depth will help your site in gaining the advantage of being prioritized in the topic areas you have thoroughly covered.
And, this way you’d have a solid game plan to compete with huge websites in SERPs.
